Comptroller-Elect Glenn Hegar to Headline Kolkhorst Senate Event

BRENHAM, TX—The Lois Kolkhorst Campaign today announced that Comptroller-Elect Glenn Hegar will be the special guest at a multi-county reception for her campaign on Wednesday. Over a thousand local contributors in Senate District 18 from Austin, Burleson, Fayette and Washington Counties are listed as hosts for the fundraising event in Brenham to support Kolkhorst in her bid to replace Hegar in the Texas Senate.

 

Hegar has served in the State Senate since 2006 where he has worked closely with Kolkhorst as she has served in the Texas House.

 

“I have had the pleasure to work closely with Glenn, first in the Texas House, and then in the Senate. We were both born and raised in this part of Texas and share common values and visions with and for the people Senate District 18,” said Kolkhorst.

 

“He has done a great job as our Senator and leaves big shoes to fill. It is truly an honor to have his support. I’m honored by the overwhelming support of our constituents at this event and throughout the district. We will have had over a dozen events hosted by supporters throughout the 21-county district. This election is about proven leadership and protecting our Texas jobs and liberties.”

 

Last week, a special election was called for December 6 to determine who will serve out the remaining two years on Hegar’s term in the Texas Senate. Early voting begins Nov. 26.

 

Upon announcing her candidacy, Kolkhorst has received broad support and has earned the endorsements of Congressman Michael McCaul, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Department of Public Safety Officers Association PAC, Conservative Republicans of Texas, Texas Homeschool Coalition, Ft. Bend GOP PAC, Cathie Adams (former Texas GOP chair and Eagle Forum president), Terri Hall (Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom), Senator Donna Campbell and State Representative Tim Kleinschmidt.
