Lois Kolkhorst Endorsed by Senator Glenn Hegar at Campaign Event
BRENHAM, TX—The Lois Kolkhorst Campaign today announced the endorsement of State Senator and Comptroller-Elect, Glenn Hegar. The endorsement came during his remarks at a Kolkhorst campaign event in her hometown of Brenham. With nearly eight hundred in attendance, Hegar spoke highly of Kolkhorst’s partnership in winning conservative victories for Senate District 18 for the past decade, and offered his full endorsement.
“Through the years in the House and Senate, Lois and I have worked together and battled for our area. She has more heart than almost anyone I’ve ever met in all my life. She will give you every single ounce that she has and that is a lot!”
“Lois Kolkhorst is somebody who will do a fantastic job in the State Senate. She is someone who I’m proud to support, endorse and help in any shape, form or fashion.”
“Lois is someone who I’ve known for so long. She is someone who will fight hard every single day, time and time again for Senate District 18. That’s why I’m supporting and endorsing my good friend, Lois Kolkhorst.” – Senator Glenn Hegar
Last night’s campaign event in Brenham was humbling,” commented Kolkhorst. “I was honored by Senator Hegar’s words. To receive his endorsement in front such a huge crowd of friends, family, and supporters says a lot about this campaign. Glenn has been my friend and ally in advancing conservative legislation for over a decade. He will be a stellar Comptroller, and I look forward to continuing our fight for smaller, more transparent government when we win this race for Senate District 18. Filling a room full of almost 800 supporters, you get the feeling that momentum is on our side, and our entire team is working around the clock to make sure we score a big win on December 6th.”
The event, held at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham, featured a capacity crowd of nearly 800 guests. The evening was organized by supporters from Austin, Burleson, Fayette and Washington Counties. The Kolkhorst campaign counted over 1200 individual sponsors of the event, with over $320,000 being raised directly from local supporters. “We’re thrilled about the outpouring of support our community has put into this campaign,” continued Kolkhorst. “People from all over SD 18 have given contributions because they care about the principles of individual liberty and the principles that my race stands for. Our base of support is from the grassroots for this special election, and that is certainly unique among the five candidates running.”
Hegar’s resounding victory in the race for Texas Comptroller will require a special election to fill his vacated Senate seat. Early voting in the special election begins November 26th, and Election Day is December 6th.
