Lois Kolkhorst Endorsed by Former GOP Chairwoman Cathie Adams

BRENHAM, TX — Less than a week after announcing her intention to run in the SD 18 special election, Lois Kolkhorst was today endorsed by longtime conservative leader, Cathie Adams. Adams is the former Chairwoman of the Republican Party of Texas, and serves as the President of Texas Eagle Forum.

In her endorsement, Adams highlighted Kolkhorst’s critical leadership against Obamacare. “Lois Kolkhorst led the fight against Obamacare in Texas,” stated Adams. “She has fought for our social and fiscal conservative values in the Texas House and she will make a great State Senator. Lois Kolkhorst is the fighter we need in the Texas Senate.”

“I am honored to have Cathie be part of our campaign,” commented Kolkhorst. “Conservatives have been eager to unite behind our campaign, and Cathie’s dedication to pro-family and pro-life principles are second to none. I want to thank Cathie again for her endorsement, and I know just how many Texans look to her for counsel on who deserves their vote.”

Senate District 18 is currently held by State Senator Glenn Hegar (R-Katy). As the Republican nominee for Texas Comptroller, a victory in November would trigger a special election for his Senate seat. Rep. Lois W. Kolkhorst is a member of the Texas House of Representatives, serving House District 13, which includes Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca and Washington Counties. She currently serves as Chair of the House Public Health Committee.
